CCMI Year 2 launch event

This week we welcomed our second cohort of CCMI PhD researchers, who are very excited to start. We hosted Professor Anna-Karin Tornberg (KTH) who gave a fantastic talk about new methods to solve the grand challenge problem of simulating large numbers of interacting bodies moving in a viscous fluid. It was great to hear about how concrete physical ideas can translate to efficient algorithms. Anna-Karin also gave some words of advice and encouragement to our students about AI and what it means for computational modelling research.
